Reporting for More Humanity

Hi, I'm Mia.
For the last decade I worked with the world’s top newsrooms - Al Jazeera, CNN, BBC, The Guardian - reporting on human rights stories that were close to my heart. I won two Emmys and published thousands of pieces. But most of all, I made friends and connections around the world, I accompanied the ongoing digital transformation of news up close and I collected a set of skills ranging from networking, pitching, producing multimedia content, developing digital media strategies, and everything else in between the field and the newsroom. Most of all, I learned resilience, dedication, effort and networking pay off.
Over the past decade, I’ve become a respected name in the industry and achieved many of my professional goals. Through mentorship and consulting, I now help emerging journalists and organizations chart their own path to success.
How We Can Work Together
Mentorship
*
My 1-on-1 mentorship program for students, aspiring journalists or those just starting in the industry. Each session is tailored to your needs and together we’ll build confidence and strategy around your career path: how to pitch, network, get a foot in the door, break the glass ceiling or stand out in the newsroom.
Reporting
*
I continue to report on stories that center humanity - from communities affected by conflict to impacts of global policy on local people.
My work focuses on human rights, development, and the environment.
Whether I’m in the field or curating multimedia content, my goal is to tell stories that build understanding and inspire action.
